Back in the mid to late seventies my then fiancé and I used to visit a little restaurant in Pasadena CA named either “The Aquarian” or “The Loaf and Ladle,” can’t remember which. There we found a very friendly person playing the upright piano who played very well. So we struck up conversation with him and he played a few requests for us. Whenever we were going to that part of town we made an effort to drop by to hear him play. One day he told us that he was going on a tour for about a year and he said ‘...they tell me that if it is successful I could become rich!’ Well, we heard nothing for sometime then one day I was looking through the “Calendar” section of the LA Times and there was George Winston looking back at me from a picture like this top one here:
